Anyone make it into Pinks All Out at the Grove?

At the Grove?

It was Rick's goal to have my car together for it (May 14 & 15) but right now the chances of it being ready are pretty slim. He's finding himself trying to cut corners in an effort to get it done quicker so we lifted the deadline for safety's sake.

I am registered already for Pinks though! Rick is in too so he will definitely be running the 4-door. I have recieved FOUR car offers so I don't have to forfeit my entry!!! My dad's nova (naturally), my friend Kevin's 66 Nova (11.80 car), his wife Janet's 05 Mustang (12.80's) and our friend Calvin's 70 Mach 1 (10.50's). I think I'm going to go with Janet's Mustang. They've done a ton of work to it over the winter and have a race on May 22 with NO DATA. I'm figuring I can help them out with a little. Also, it's the cheapest and easiest to replace.

So, who else got in? Anyone just going to spectate?

Your not going to want to give the '05 stang back. I know your going "all out" but that is a great platform for bracket racing.

Good luck to you and the ugly chevelle.

I'll be down at Island on Friday night and Saturday, Cecil on Sunday. A 14 second mustang isn't TV worthy.

I doubt a 12.80 mustang is TV worthy either but it should be a good time.

No one's going?

We're leaving tomorrow afternoon and hope to be pitted by 5-6pm for the weekend.

There's no chance in hell they're going to pick a 12.80 field so I'm looking forward to a weekend of hanging out with friends and drinking.

Doing a yard sale Friday and Saturday. Linda is hosting one of her bonfire parties Saturday night. Stop by. I'm going to stagger to Cecil on Sunday.

I was there racing, I had the red '97 Formula WS6 running in the mid 11's class. My dad was running his black '06 Goat in the 12.50-12.99 class. Was the Mustang you were there with grey by chance? I remember my dad ran against a grey '05+ GT and they both went 12.80. I actually have a vid of it, I'll send it to you if that's your friend.

Here's my car:

That was me. I would love to have a video!! jrs811@gmail.com

We were the first pair out for the arm drop and I was DEAD LATE!!!!

Here's the story from another thread...
So, let me share with my f-body buds what kind of an idiot I am.

I borrowed my friend Janet's 2005 Mustang GT for Pinks All Out at the Grove last weekend. The car has a two-step in it. I have never used a two-step - I'm a footbraker!

The first pass I pre-staged, brought the rpm's up to 1500 and bumped in. Set the brake and floored it only to push the car through the beams resulting in no time. Blah.

The second pass, I rolled in and lit both pre-stage and stage, mashed the brake pedal to the floor (as to not roll the beams) and then floor the gas. By the time I looked up, the light was green. .900 light. Oops (pro tree).

The third and fourth pass were just like the second only the fourth was on Rich's arm drop and he didn't care too much for my SLOW routine. I just couldn't get it down!!!!

The car was running 12.80s and they picked a 9.90 field. Rick felt bad that my nova wasn't done but what can you do?

Our friends that run tech at the Grove decided Rick wasn't allowed to run quicker than 11.00 with the crack in his windshield. This is the 5th or 6th time he's been to the Grove with the car and it has had a cracked windshield every time. He lifted just past the 1/8th mile on Friday for both of his passes going a 10.12 and a 10.90. Saturday he said "screw tech" and went ALL OUT. 9.24 @ 150.63. Second pass was 9.34 but I'm not sure of the mph. Time for a parachute on his street car.

Neither one of us were picked but I didn't think we would be.
