But first: Re: the PCM. Be really nice to someone near you that has a 94Z28 without mods and borrow or rent their PCM for a half hour. Install it and see what happens. If that solves your problem you know you need a new PCM. If it doesn't started checking Voltages.
He has the shop manuals and a meter. He has substituted a known good PCM.

I still don't think he has checked the coil wire (spark plug wire from the ignition coil to the TOP of the opti) please check the terminals and report back.

I haven't checked it for any resistance measurements, no.

I pulled the lower dash panels out, the rocker trim, and the carpet up along the edges to expose all the wiring/harnesses/modules/etc.

The car ran for over and hour (aside from when I disconnected random stuff) and jiggled everything, inspected everything, tapped on things, etc.


Car performed fine.

Hell, I even pull the battery out and went through the harness that is wedged between the core support and battery. Checked for fraying/damage. Inspected the fusible links and cleaned their posts.

Found nothing.

Went ahead and pulled and cleaned the battery ground at the engine mount.


I took the ICM off and getting it tested tomorrow.

My ICM tested bad. I don't quite understand that because I bought it when I bought the Delphi opti, and I spent good money and got AC Delco I believe.

So I'm curious now if there's a wiring issue that might've taken out the ICM.

Going to replace it with a lifetime warranty parts store unit. At least if it fails again due to other issues I'll get it replaced for free.

This doesn't mean it's the only issue though so I'm not out of the woods.

Unfortunately, no. I have dropped the ball on this yet again. This time due to a cold snap that blew through for the last few weeks.

I'm going to buy the ICM from autozone soon and start putting the interior of the car back together. I have a bunch of panels removed as well as carpet. I was chasing all the wiring.

If we get some more good weather I'll get back on this project, otherwise, probably done until March unless I can make room in the garage soon and push the car in.
