Why run colder plugs?
94 z28 with a s-trim blower. now i installed ngk tr6 plugs and gapped them to .035. i noticed the vavles need to still be adjusted cause the rockers were just alittle too tight once they pumped up with oil. so they are cool now. i pull the plugs and they have carbon all over them? car run a total of two hrs. so did the vavles being out alittle cause the plugs to carbon up? what is the exact reason i'm suppose to run colder plugs? are the tr6 to cold for my car??

Re: Why run colder plugs?
Cooler plugs will help avoid detonation the TR6 are a good choice for your car. Do you have an aftermarket ignition of some sort? That may help and is a very good idea because they can be used as a spark based rev limit, the stock rev limiter cuts fuel which is instant death for a boosted motor. Also what are you running for tuning and fueling? Tuners will usually setup power adder tuning a bit rich at first just to be safe, or there could have been some miscommunication and it is setup to provide too much fuel or a problem with the car is causing too much fuel.

yes i had it tuned by madz28 - i have a msd btm unit. 42lbs injectors and 255fuel pump. it was also tuned for knock and have the timming retard set and i have yet to ever hear any noise. still why did the plugs carbon up so quick? i think thats the reason it takes acouple seconds to turn over before it starts.
