New best times and questions to go with them
I made my first nitrous passes this past weekend. car was running between 12.6-12.7 @105-107 on motor, on a 150shot it went 11.9@116 11.89@116 11.80@117. Is that about a normal gain in times? The trans hates the 2-3 shift on nitrous and make some wierd shuttering and slipping before it starts to take off again. I run a th350 with a 3.23 gear and a 28 in tire. The car is hitting the rev limmiter about 10-30 feet from the finish line, does that sound normal or is the converter alittle loose?

I'm not saying that your times are slow but I ran 11.97@115 in my M6 car with 150 shot.....I broke the rearend on the same pass......The car on motor would run 14.0's......doesn't sound real good about hitting the rev limiter on the spray.....that could be harmful!

Your car should not even be close to the rev limiter with that gear/tire combo and your mph through the traps. Something is definitely wrong. Your trans is slipping severely or you are overpowering the converter. Is your converter set up for the nitrous or just NA? FYI I have a th400 with a nitrous converter, 3.70 gears, 26" tall tire and go through the traps at 5800 rpms trapping 117mph on the motor.

I am running 11.638@118.29mph w/ a 1.675 60' with a Zex 125 dry kit.
I didn't have a bottle heater and think I could get an 11.5 or 11.4 if the pressure was where it was supposed to be and on a cooler day (it was a hot humid day but the bottle pressure was a little low). Without the nitrous I run 12.620@108.73 1.843 60'. This is using MT ET Streets 26x10.5x16s. I am using a Pro-torque 2400 stall and I am told I should go higher but I want to keep it as streetable as possible.

You really need a good torque converter to get the full potential of your car. You should get something along the lines of a 3600-3800 vigilante stall with a 9.5" converter. With that converter you would be totally streetable. Hell, I have a 4200rpm stall 9" converter and I would drive my car to the beach and back with no overdrive--perfectly streetable. Anyway, if you get a good converter it will not feel any different until you mash the gas pedal.

Actually the car is at Del-Trans now and they are shipping the converter back to have the stall raised to 2800. Pro-Torque makes a nice unit and they are doing it for free. Going any higher and I would have to get another converter. I am saving up for an ATI D1-SC Pro-Charger, new pistons, rods, cam and the NX direct port nitrous kit. Along with that I will need new injectors and a few other things. That should put me a little over 1000hp and the 4L60E isn't going to hold that. I am going to go with a 4L80E. I have being reading some articles on the swap and it doesn't look too bad. Of course the tranny with all the options is going to cost more then the damn supercharger. That is scary.

You should go with a th400 and 3.42 gears and 28" tall tires instead. A lot cheaper and just as streetable even without the overdrive and it is an easy direct bolt in. 4L80 is essentially a th400 with an overdrive. Sounds like one hell of a combo your gunning for.
