Re: Underdrive Pulley

LT1's won't run hotter due to water pump not belt driven..
Battery voltage suffers tho, yes.. I don't find it a real prob with mine, I pop it into neutral if sitting long at lights etc..

Re: Underdrive Pulley

I'm a strong believer in the ASP replacement underdrive pulley. I have the alternator underdrive one also, but voltage gets kinda low....so I would just get the crank one only and not the alternator one if you are worried about low voltage and charging.

Was there any noticeable difference installing it? I know the question has been asked a million times, I'm just wondering if YOU thought it was worth it. I'm just wanting to get the last couple bolt-ons done before I go internal

Re: Underdrive Pulley

For the price to me it is worth it. Couldn't tell much of a gain but I could feel the throttle response got better. Here is a dyno that someone did
http://ws6.com/mod-2.htm

A 5 torque peak and 5 hp and 5tq ave. gain under the curve is enough for me to dish out $100 for it. It will not hurt your performance it could only help.

Re: Underdrive Pulley

I also feel the ASP has a nice underdrive pulley/damper. That would be the way to go if i were you.

Re: Underdrive Pulley

I just took mine off after five years and didn't really notice anything other than the battery stays at 13 Volts now.

Re: Underdrive Pulley

I had a belt sqeal every time the car shifted under WOT I changed the belt and everything and it never went away I even replaced the tensioner !!!

I added the ASP 34 % underdrive pulley and it gave a little power but it did away with the belt squeal !!! (figure that one out). My charging is effected a little but it still hardly ever goes below the 13 on the gauge, the largest noticeable difference is that when everythings going and youhave your headlights on when at a stop they dim slightly.

Re: Underdrive Pulley

If everyone is so worried about charging, get an overdrive pulley for the alt. Then both your goals are fulfilled. Its as simple as that.

Re: Underdrive Pulley

I want to but an UDP set up to. I am also curious. I had my mine set on a March power and amp pulley set up. It has both pulleys. Has anybody heard the pros and cons of this set up? Goes for about 115$ and you shouldnt have tho worry about the volts dropping low because, an alt. pulley is included. Feedback would be greatly appreciated
