Problem here

well then....

take a look at my exhaust valves.... lol thanks opti / timing chain...





Runnin on all.. 5.5 Cyl.

Timing chain is about normal. A new LT1 chain set will have about half that when ya install it.
Looks like ya were using some oil on two cyls and starting to burn the ex on the third.
Appears to be running rich .

Thanks man - doing a rebuild much needed. going with the LT4 timing set for 200 i figure its a better option than an electric water pump. also where can i get the bearing for the waterpump gear - it got very loose and how do i install it?

Any bearing supply house should have it. There is a snap rig to take off and just tap it off the shaft with a small hammer or take it to a shop and let them press it of and the new one on.

Thanks - do you know the real name for it? Water Pump Drive Bushing? that right?

There is a ball bearing in the block all ya need is to take it with you as a sample.
