Scorpion 1.7 Roller Rockers

Im thinking about doing the 1.7 roller rocker swap.

I was thinkin about getting the Scorpion 1.7 7/16 rockers:
SCP1026 Chevy V-8 265-400, V-6 200-262 Scorpion 1.7 SBC 7/16 Rocker Arms $222
http://www.flatlanderracing.com/scorpionrockers.html

Ive done some research and heres the parts list i gathered:

-113-134-7103 ARP Rocker Arm Studs, 7/16" $29.99
-91-235-D Isky 235-D Chrome Silicon Valve Springs, 1.260 OD Single Spring w/ damper, suitable to .550 lift, set of 16 $89.99
www.thunderracing.com

-guideplates part # 14011051 need 8
-intake valve guide seals part# 10212810 need 8
exhaust valve guide seals part# 12564852 need 8
-l98 spring seats/spacers part#10185066 need 16
www.gmpartsdirect.com

anywayse the total is gonna be around $480. Has anyone does this on here? will i need new pushrods? i heard that certain years of lt1 fbodies recieved hardened pushrods. do thoes years include my 1995?

My future mods(like next couple years) for the car include a ported heads and mabie an xe224 or cc305 or somethin else.
Im lookin to see some kind of gain from these rockers, and have my valvetrain ready for the cam install. :drive:

what kinda gains will i see installin these suckers.
i trap at 108.4 right now in the 1/4.

Re: Scorpion 1.7 Roller Rockers

You won't need different size pushrods but you might after you do the cam.

What you should do is check your valvetrain geometry to make sure the tip is centered on the valvestem.

Re: Scorpion 1.7 Roller Rockers

Combination Motorsports said that I had to convert to Hardened pushrods when I did the guideplates and Non-Self aligning rockers. I have also heard from others that it is recommended when doing that setup. I would also say especially think about it since you are doing 1.7 rockers.
Cmotorsports has the pushrods for aroudn 30 bucks I think.

Don't skimp on the pushrods. Go for the hardened chromemoly pushrods. They'll last and they're worth the extra bucks.

If your current rockers are roller-tipped, I'll take them from you if you have no use for them. Shoot me a PM.

Re: Scorpion 1.7 Roller Rockers

another thing im wonderin, when i get my small cam the 1.7's will make it a little more aggressive, and i could swap a smaller ratio back in when its emissions time.
like what i mean is :
a hotcam with 1.5's = .492 / .492 easy to pass emissions
1.6 Hot cam .525 / .525 with 1.7= .558 / .558
1.5 cc305 .510 / .510 with 1.7= .578 / .578
1.6 xe224/230 .536 / .544 with 1.7= .570 / .578
1.5's on stock cam .447/.459 with 1.7=.507 / .520

I was thginking about one of these cams, That makes me reconsider valve springs.

Anyone know a good valve spring? i might need one that can take .580 lift
