Rocker arms wont stay tight
I have the comp cams pro magnum rocker arm and when I turn the engine over the ones that I just adjusted come right off the valve and pushrod but the nut is tight. What could be wrong?

Hears the deal, I put new heads and thinner head gaskets, so at first I used stock lenght pushrods, there too long but I had them adjusted fine, then I put some shorter pushrods in and the car woudnt stay running. Figured out that the rockers arent staying tight after I adjust them, I turn the motor over and the ones I did are real loose. The lifters I cant push in with the pushrods by hand so they seem to be pumped up, I think.

Yes I have guide plates, once I pulled my head out of my butt, I got it, I think the problem was I didnt adjust some of them at tdc, and once I turned the motor over they were loose, but I got some help to watch the valves this morning and got it figured out.

I understand that the standard SBC guide plates aren't properly spaced for LT1's and will cause the roller rocker to ride offcenter on the valve stem. The ones to use are the GMPP p/n 14011051.
