Replacing 93-97 Firebird popup headlights with flush mount headlights
Has anybody retrofitted their 93-97 Firebird/TA with flushmount headlights? I have seen a kit for 98+ 'birds but haven't seen anything for 93-97 'birds yet. I'm thinking of building my own setup using either PIAA or Hella lamps.
Basically I will have to first construct a sturdy headlight basket that will fit in the headlight area, then cover everything with a flat piece of either plexiglass or real glass. It sounds simple enough in theory but there are a few things that need to be worked out. First, is there even enough room under the hood to fit flush mount lights? It seems like the radiator brace might interfere. The lamps need to be set as far back as possible to fit under a flat panel of plexiglass, and the radiator brace might not allow that. If that's the case then I will have to either use smaller lamps or somehow dome the plexiglass to clear the headlamps.
If anybody has already attempted a project like this, I would greatly appreciate any input they may have to offer. Any ideas?

I have heard of people complaining that no one makes the fixed head lights for the 93-97s. I only have seen it done once, It definatly was a home made job, Looked like what you call the basket was made of some sort of colored plexiglass molded together somehow, it actually looked pretty damn good. Maybe someday they'll make a kit for these years, untill then Good Luck with making the mod yourself.

This may be expensive, but you could probably have some made by this company. http://www.hids4less.com/www/product...customhead.htm
