Removing Intake Manifold right now...few quick questions.
I have Seafoam and brake clean, will any of those work to clean the inside of the intake once I get it off, or do I need carb cleaner?
Also, what should I put on each of the intake bolts when I put them back in there? I have some blue silicone gasket stuff that I used when installing my waterpump...says its oil resistant and crap, would that work? Or do I need something else to hold them in there?

I believe you use a little bit of red Loctite on the bolts. And I used TB & Intake cleaner when I had my manifold off.
You could also take it to a machine shop and have it steam cleaned or boiled to clean it out.

Damnit I cant get to the Very back driver side bolt..Theres a ****ing Flying saucer looking thing bolted onto the back of the intake, and I cant get my socket in there. Can I removie this thing, or will I need a new gasket for it if I do? Im trying to get a normal wrench in there but I cant get enough leverage to break it loose.
BTW im pretty sure its the EGR valve thing, but I have my EGR bypassed..so I guess its jes chillin back there? The previous owner bypassed the EGR so im not sure how all that works. I jes looked and my pack of gaskets that I have a "EGR valve pipe" gasket....thats the one right?

The EGR valve will unbolt if it's in your way. The EGR tube gasket is a different gasket; it's the tube on the passanger side that goes from the back of the intake to the exhaust manifold.

Well I got the intake off...now how exactly do I clean it? Theres another small pan held on by 4 bolts that I jes took off, but theres not much under it. Do I jes get card/intake cleaner and spray it all down into the intake and let it run out or what?
