Racetronix Fuel pump Harness Question

I have my battery in the back, so it would be a waste for me to get the harness to run cable to the back of the alternator when I already have a 4 ga wire coming from the alternator to the back for the cutoff switch. Can I just take a 10 ga wire to the existing relay? What relay would I need to do this too?

Re: Racetronix Fuel pump Harness Question

Not familiar with the Racetronix harness, but there would be no reason to run a power lead to the alt when the battery is in the back. Just run it to the battery instead. This would be only if you get good voltage at your rear mounted battery from the alt. If you don't, then you might want to run the lead to the alt.

You will still have voltage drop. The voltage is ALWAYS highest at the output of the alternator. This is the best location to get power for your pump. Same goes for your injectors and ignition coil.

The other option is to order a custom length short harness.

What type of pump are you running?

I think what he's saying is he'd have less of a voltage drop with his 4ga wire then the wire in the racetronix kit?

The pump must be wired so power is disrupted when the cutoff switch is off in order to pass track tech-in.

You will require a custom length harness.
E-Mail sales@racetronix.com to order one.

Re: Racetronix Fuel pump Harness Question

i dont have enough cash to buy the pump and harness, so I figured I could make the feed wire bigger to the relay, thats why Im asking this. I have all sorts of wire laying around here though. If I did have enough money id buy both. Is the custom harness more expensive?

Hooking it up to pass tech is no problem, just hooked on the cutoff switch opposite the alternator feed.

A custom length harness would be the same price.
