Ported LT1 Heads

Re: Ported LT1 Heads
I fully agree with Z95. If your gonna do the heads, do the cam at the same time. Best time to do it also cause with the heads off, everything is already gonna be apart anyway. Then, get the pcm tuned to take full advantage of the head and cam swap.

I hope those number you are stating are at the engine. I would say go with the LE1 package, $1100+shipping for the heads and the cam. Talk to Lloyd, his email is nighttrain66@msn.com

Re: Ported LT1 Heads
Back in the 80s maybe the heads were the first thing to attack in search of power but stock LT1 heads are better than everything that came before even the big valve stuff from the musclecar era. Is there more power to be had there, yes, but it is the wrong place to start, the stock cams are the real limiter, so like the others said don't even bother with the heads unless doing the cam.
