piston selection

Starting building LT1 383, with 6.0 rods, my question is with piston selection, Malhe have a short ring stack, but JE, SRP, the oil control ring is in the pin, what's the pro's and con's of each setup?

Would the short ring stack let the piston rock in the bore or am I over thinking the whole thing. Thanks

On my 385 with 6" rods I went with Howards cam Pistons. 2618 alloy very light and is stamped Ross on the inside.
Was a lot better price then the others I was looking at
