over heating problems..

Okay, so right now, im in the middle of a head/cam rebuild, but just before i started, my car had been having trouble with overheating issues.. the fans both worked, and the relays and fuses were all good, but they wouldnt kick on.. (youd be amazed how quickly a car overheats without fans in AZ). i found a wire (or so i thought) that had been burnt through and was arcing on my headers, but after following it back, i found that it was just my throttle cable.. so idk what the problem is. i havent found any other burnt wires, and all the grounds are good.

anyone have ideas?

i may be missing some info, if i am, sorry, just ask for any clarification and ill respond asap..

I have the same problem fans dont come on when temperature rises and sometimes it reaches the red zone. But when I jump the terminals on the scanner port they work fine. Is it safe to have them jumped while driving? And is this the sensor we have to be looking for? Thank you.

that's the sending unit to the driver's dummy light...or guage.

the actual temp sensor for the PCM is in the pump. and it's 20 bucks at any parts store

jumping the relay is fine. as long as you remove it when you turn off the car. you'll run the bat dead if you leave it.
