Re: OK... fans wont come in

I do know that you can check fan operation on a 94 by grounding the diagnostic port when using the ses light to check for trouble codes.when this is done and the key turned on both fans should come on, not sure about later models. Hope this helps.

if you wanted to test the fan motors you could unplug your maf and start the car this will set off an SES that will cause the fans to come on. If they don't come on then i would think the fan motors would be shot. If they don't come on then i would unplug one of the plugs and see if its getting juice.

Re: OK... fans wont come in

You just installed the a 160 Thermo right? The fans aren't programmed to come on until something like 220* and with your 160* it will take it some time to get that hot. You need to get a hold of a power programmer or send your PCM in for a tune that will make the low fans turn on at 180 and the highs at 190. The fact that your High came on when you turned the AC on is a good sign.

Re: OK... fans wont come in

I havent got the 160 yet.

My overheat light comes on then before the fan are to kick in.
The light comes on about 190 or 200 is that normal?

Do you mean the Check Guages light? That shouldn't come on until you're in the red, somewhere around 240-260.

First fan kicks on right at the 210/half way mark. My car has never gone above this. Are you sure it isnt just waiting that long to kick on?
