oil pressure gone in my LT1
hello again guys, ran into another problem with my 97 camaro with the LT1 engine in it, i went offshore for 2 weeks and wife drove her after i got the optic distibutor in, she took the car to a quick oil change place and had the oil changed, she drove it for 10 days then the engine started to get a bad squick in it, i got home found there is no oil pressure on the cluster gauge, i want to ask if someone could tell me how to put a manual gauge in and where to plum it in, i took both valve covers off and checked my valve rollers, they are fine, i took and replace the oil filter still the same, do i need to stop waisting time and drop the oil pan and check my main bearings?

took and got everything disconnected and raised the engine up, tried to pull oil pan, she will not come out, found there is some kind of spash plate in there that connects to the main journals, think its #2 and #4, pan will not come past it, can anyone tell me if it's possible or do i need to pull engine

Re: oil pressure gone in my LT1
You do have to loosen the motor mounts and jack the motor up a bit to get the oil pan out. You shouldn't have to pull the motor however.
You can get a mechanical guage and an adapter to check the oil pressure at the filter. That probably is a worthwhile step before tearing into the motor.
