o2 sensor not hooked up??? help with some wiring
i just bought a 93 trans am two days ago. the car runs great but i lifted it up to look under it for an oil leak and noticed that the passenger o2 is not plugged it. the driver side is pluged it but it looks like some one replaced the o2s at one time with the 4 wire o2 sensors. Correct me if im wrong but dont the 93 trans am have one wire o2. the pass. side still has the one wire connection on the wiring harness so it will not plug into the o2 sensor.

You can convert your 93 to the 4-wire heated O2 sensors - that's one option. From Shoebox:

Or buy the correct 1-wire sensors. Shoebox has the part # on this page (near the bottom, on the left side):

Re: o2 sensor not hooked up??? help with some wiring
Define "OK".
How do you know the 4-wire sensor is even hooked up correctly?
Do it right, or don't do it at all. The A/F ratio is "tuned" by the O2 sensors in closed loop. Since the car has headers, the O2 sensors may be too cold to work correctly, causing the ECM to run in open loop. That will generally give you poorer results with regard to fuel mileage, and the ability to adjust for changes in the engine components (e.g. - injectors) as they age or crud up.
