nuetral safety switch

My transplanted Lt1 with the 4l60e transmission has a basic button type
nuetral safety switch. I can only start the car in park. I would like to be able
to use the proper switch and wire it up correctly. Any suggestions?

Re: nuetral safety switch

The proper switch in a 4th gen is attached to the side of the shifter in the console. Not sure what you are really asking.

Hey Shoebox, Thanks for replying. My car has an aftermarket "I DID IT"
column. Can I still use the switch you suggested or is there another set up for a column shifter?

You really need to start including the details of your build in your posts, specific to the question you are asking. How was anyone supposed to guess you have a column shifter?

And.... post in the correct forum. I don't know how many of these I've had to move.

Well, it is made to fit the factory floor shifter. I imagine it would take a bit of engineering and fabrication to adapt it to a column setup.
