Question new cam

My car is a 94' and has been VERY meticulously maintained. Most external stuff has been replaced; internal stuff is still original. The car has 97,000miles on it...is it worth doing a cam swap, or should I just wait and do a complete rebuild?

No real engine mods, but here's what I got: SLP CAI/Vortect elbow/air foil/Borla Y-pipe/Random Tech CAT/ Aftermarket muffer (not a cat back).

I do have a complete suspension and brake upgrades, but that's not relavent to this post.

I don't race, it's just an around town/occasional trip car (it's really not driven hard).

Even if I don't do a radical engine build, how long does a cam normally last before it needs replacing (wear rate)?

To date, the car still drives like it's brand new (seriously).

Thanks for any advice.

Re: new cam

Roller cams should not wear at all, with flat tappets of years gone by those did wear out but not the ones we have.
At 97K with not to harsh driving yout engine is barely broken in so no worries there. A cam is probably not worth the effort unless you like to use the HP you already have.
