need valve cover breather suggestions...

I'm trying to find a valve cover breather for my new valve covers and can't seem to find one. Will the Autozone one that they have out on the shelves work? It says that it is for a SBC. I assume this is a standardized size thing. One more question is, does the oil fill tube from the stock covers fit into the new chrome ones that I have?

The part number for these is 141-130... they are 1/4" taller than stock. Thanks guys.....

Make your own. Do you have the oil cap extension? If so cut off the top 1" of it and buy a chrome top K&N filter with a 1 1/2" hole.
Attach with a stainless steel hose clamp.

I'm just speaking in temp terms for the oil cap. Thanks for the suggestion, but will the stocker fit?

I would suggest keeping the stock breathing system! Letting in/out unmetered air can cause the car to run different

I have done a search on the pcv system, and have been reading the threads about it on lt1 cars for about the last hour and half I can understand people not wanting to get rid of it because there wont be "positive ventilation" for the crankcase and some vapors may stick around during cooldown and get into the oil but whole big argument about unmetered air getting in and messing up idle and a/f ratio doesn't make sense....IF you are capping the p/s throttle body hole AND the d/s hole in the intake where the pcv valve is. Sure, now the crank case is venting to atmosphere, but at no time is any "unmetered" air entering the throttle body, intake, or combustion chamber because of deleting the pcv.

Re: need valve cover breather suggestions...

i just capped the hose from the passenger side valve cover and plugged the tb, so really theres no point in having hte pcv valve anymore, right?
can i just remove the pcv valve, and the hose attached to it, and plug both holes?

Exactly what kind of effects would or could this have on a car? Have you seen a car run differently....curious...maybe mine is.

I think he meant if you put on a breather and kept the pcv system in tact, then you would have unmetered air entering the intact tract. If you remove the pcv hose and cap the throttle body when using a breather you wont have a problem.

Since i have the AZS&M Monoblade, i can just get a breather for the pass VC and remove the hose that hooked up to the stock TB without any troubles cant i? Let me know if im wrong.
