Need Help !!!!Getting Ready to change Fuel Injectors and Fuel Pressure Regulator

Hi Guys!

I have a 1997 Z28 with 86K miles and this Saturday I am going to change all 8 fuel injectors and Fuel Pressure regulator.

I need advice, pictures, or links that will help me to do this job right.

THanks Lee!

Would you happen to own a Chilton's repair manual?

Re: Need Help !!!!Getting Ready to change Fuel Injectors and Fuel Pressure Regulator

Well manual is slightly useful but its pretty easy. Just did my injectors and dindn't even have to disconnect the fuel lines . You could do a reg same way. Just unbolt four bolts on fuel rail and unclip injectors.unplug vac line on reg and get some wires harnesses at back of intake out of way and you are pretty much good to go. Take out fuel rail with injectors. Take off clips, install new injectors, some guys reuse the clips but hear its not necessary. I reused mine since guy bought my injectors from dremeled the grooves in them so the clips would fit. I have 30 svo now in my lt1.
I didn't change reg but its pretty simple. If you want to work on the bench then buy fuel line disconnect tools and take rail and reg and injectors over to bench and work on it. A bit easier but doable either way.
So really you hardly need a manual for this.Oil up the orings also when you resinstall and replace any you rip or that are damaged. Try not to lose any in rail or have any fall into holes where injectors go. I should have snapped some pics. Oh well. Its really a very easy job.

Blow off the intake manifold prior to removing the injector so that dirt doesn't fall down the holes. Also open the gas cap to relieve the fuel pressure prior to pulling the fuel lines.
