MTI Heads - Valve Spring Question

Does anyone know what kind/size of valve springs came on the MTI Stage 2 LT4 Heads? I snapped one, I need to get new springs, but I'm not sure exactly what is on there...

Re: MTI Heads - Valve Spring Question

With my luck I'm probably the first one to ever snap one, so no one has a clue.

If you snapped the valve spring don't you think you should upgrade rather than put the same stuff on and have it happen again. Just a thought.

Words of wisdom right there.

No, I know that, but I need to know the Size of the valve spring. I don't want to have to grind the seats.

Re: MTI Heads - Valve Spring Question

Unless they are out of business or something, call where you got the fheads. Or check the documentation you got, the specs whould be there. Or, if those options don't work, any decent engine shop will have a spring tester and a set of dial calipers. Take them a "good" spring and ask them to measure it and test it. The numbers you need are the spring height (free and compressed), the rate, and the ID and OD. Then you can get a comparable spring.

However, why did it break? Are they worn out, is there another problem?
