MIL light out...Fans come on! (FYI)
Re: 37 Chevy with 95 LT1 drive-line swap
Was mounting the ALDL connector with LED (MIL) I added ...when the LED wiring broke off. BTW: MIL was functioning great up to that point.
Thought no big deal I'll just run it without the MIL until I can get another from my supply box (20 miles away)... so I start it and all of a sudden Fan #1 kicks on ..then Fan #2!
Checks DTC's and found 1) no VSS 2) MIL circuit
No VSS makes sense we don't have the instrument (speedo) cluster installed yet.
Think what happened is the VSS code triggered a DTC, when the PCM attempted to illuminate the MIL it had no response from the MIL and apparently went into a safe mode and turned the fans on?
Anyway..wired in a temporary light bulb and the car operates normally again.
So to make a long story short...the 16188051 PCM needs a functioning MIL.
