Making My own Sub Frame connectors?? Bad Idea??

I'm not exactly sure how long subframes are. But I bet you could get them in a conventional oven with a little fabrication. Also if they won't fit and your going to use them to make money you could just build your own made solely for those parts. It'd be pretty easy. Especially if you can weld/fabricate.

Well, what I was thinkin was getting some 2" boxed steel rods and a piece of 1/4" thick steel plate from the local metal supply store. cutting them to size and welding them in. Then cutting some steel plates as mounts for extra support. I'd powed coat the strut tower brace. thats not to big to stuff in the oven. Where do I find info about powder coating??

We made the ones on my firebird out of some square tubing and used steel plates at the ends to weld to the subframes. Took about an hour and I just spray painted them black.
I noticed a difference as soon as I backed out of the garage. Car signifigantly stiffer which I like.
Whats nice is I can jack up the car on them too.
