I found this on Dura-Bond's site.....so the LT1/LT4 rebuild book maybe correct.

I'll get some pictures up soon, but I did a practice run installing one of the cam bearings I knocked out and was appalled at how many metal shavings were left in the oiling groove after I knocked the bearing back out again. I went in fairly square, but I'm really concerned with what I've seen. Even just knocking out the factory cam bearings created shavings. How do you get the shavings out of the oil grooves once the new bearing is installed?

Here are the pics I promised. Do I need to knock down the sharp edge of the oiling groove causing the shavings? None of it is good, but the 2nd picture really bothers me.....that's quite a long shaving. Was I simply out of square at some point with the bearing?
