LTCC coils mocked-up

I picked up an extra LT1 over the weekend that will sit in the corner of my garage...probably forever, or until I need a rebuild. I have ordered my LTCC and decided to use my new engine for coil ideas.

This is the LS2 coils installed onto the Proform coil brackets. I originally wanted to use them like a fuel rail cover, but I discovered a new idea.

Going to pick it up, I was at my buddies house (Darth Vader house in the background)

Tearing it down...looks like a newer opti, and a MSD Blaster coil

I like your idea but better double check you have enough clearance with the HVAC box.

Re: LTCC coils mocked-up

Alternative approach, particularly useful when running a solid roller cam, requiring more frequent removal of valve covers.....

Out of sight, out of mind.

Re: LTCC coils mocked-up

I bet I can get those brackets to bolt nicely under there too!

Re: LTCC coils mocked-up

Don't use the "bottom" location on a supercharged setup.... broken belt tears the wires out.

Re: LTCC coils mocked-up

I never broke a belt with any of my blower setups. Made plenty of dust with the YSi though.

Re: LTCC coils mocked-up

My only experience is seeing the aftermath of the belt letting go on George Baxter's 9.0-second 30th SS convertible. We were both running the same coil setup with the MoTeC ECU. But that's all ancient history, dating back to maybe 2002.

Re: LTCC coils mocked-up

I usually advise against mounting them to the valve covers or to fuel rail covers as I originally did. It looks nice but if you have to adjust the rocker arms it's a hassle.
