lt1 vs...

well im a newb, but im curious what you guys think, should i keep my lt1 engine and just build that up, or should I drop a 396 or any other engine in my 1994 z28 body? what would you guys do? its an auto, and has 126k miles

The only engines that are an "easy" swap are LSx engines since the ignition system does not require a standard type distributor. There is very little room under the cowl for a standard distributor setup.

Do you mean a 396 LT1 stroker or and old school BBC 396?

I assumed by his wording he meant an old school engine, but a stroker would fit.

That's what I say as well.

If you are going to swap the engine, go to an LSx. By the time you are done you might as well buy a LSx car. Probably cost about the same in time and money to swap it in.

Unless you find a wrecked LS1 car for the swap I would stick with an LT1 and have fun.
