LT1 running crappy. Help please!
Hey all! My first post here, so here goes........
The car is an RX-7 with a proven good running LT1 swap from an older RX-7. Now that all the stuff is in the newer RX-7 the darn thing runs like CRAP!
Details...........
VERY, VERY hard to start, cold OR warm. Takes at least 40 tries before it will finally just start right up and idle.
It's missing pretty bad at idle, and on the road it'll miss like crazy. If I floor it ini 1st, it'll light 'em up 1/2 the time, and sometimes just hesitates and slowly goes.
NEW: Walbro pump, K&N air filter, fuel filter, plugs & wires.
Battery voltage at idle is 12.80, and fuel pressure is normal.
If i shut it off and wait 1 minute, it will fire right back up again. If wait about 4 minutes, it won't start without another 40 or so attempts!
If I unplug the MAF while running, it does not make a difference. (If that matters.)
I owned the other car this came out of, I know it WAS running good when I started the swap.
Any thoughts or input would be really helpful. I don't know a ton about LT1's....yet!

So, I bet you're correct. I'll have to look into that Monday.
By the way, there's a couple of LT1 944's here in town. Very nice swap!
Here's what I'm up to when not trying to get this LT1 back to life....
My daily driver!
The LT1 donar, soon to be LS1, heavily modded.

I bet i know who the 944 swaps are! It is a small world One is white? and the other blue?
Looks like you got a sweet ride. I been thinking about doing a LSx in a gen 3 RX7
But it for sure sounds like an injector problem. As in stuck after setting too long.
If you want to join an Porsche / Chevy swap board hit me up in private as i will not post it in public to respect the admins of this board.
