Re: Lt1 no fire Not opti spark?

For the fuel pump relay, the fuse conducts the power to the relay contacts, but the PCM provides the power to energize it.

94 and 95 use the same PCM with different programming.

Ohh ok. I over read that too fast Fred. I will do some more testing this weekend and post results. Got a lot of tracking to do.

Re: Lt1 no fire Not opti spark?

Ok Im into the harness plug to the PCM. Not getting power on the black plug #31 & #15 two oranges. Even checked past the dividers. Checked my dash fuse panel and Im getting power there. So it must be somewhere in the dash. Is there another check point in the dash that the wires stop at? Also the wire coming off the PCM/ign fuse in the dash is pink. Not sure if that would make any difference? Shoeboxs diagram says its a red wire but that is based off a 95. Also just for a better understanding of the PCM is it like a radio amp with a (full time?)battery connection and a remote/ignition?

Re: Lt1 no fire Not opti spark?

Please advise where you find it says it is a red wire.

Are you sure you are looking in the right place? There are two PCM fuses. The PCM BAT (fuse #4 with orange wire) fuse feeds 31 and 15 you refer to (and anything that might say PCM Battery Feed).

PCM IGN (fuse #5 with pink wire) feeds anything on the chart that says PCM Ignition Feed.

The PCM has both constant and switched power.

Re: Lt1 no fire Not opti spark?

This is the diagram that says its red? Maybe Im mistaken and following it down the wrong path?

Here is my wire from the dash fuse PCM/ignition.(pink) im getting power here. This is the one I was thinking the diagram said it was supposed to be red?

Also here is the two orange wires on the black PCM plug #15 & #31. I'm getting no powder on these wires. I even tested pass the splitter with the ignition on and off?

Re: Lt1 no fire Not opti spark?

The diagram shows the wire from the fuse #8 (#4 on your 94) to the PCM BATTERY (not PCM IGNITION) is pink. The red wire runs from the fusible link, attached to the red + box near the battery, to the fuse box (hence to #4 on your 94) in the dash.

Re: Lt1 no fire Not opti spark?

15 and 31 should have constant power, go through C100, cavity D and are fed by fuse #8 U/H (under the hood). That's what the diagram says.

Re: Lt1 no fire Not opti spark?

Yep 15&31 go back into the dash thru the firewall. Also Im getting power past all my fusable links near the battery. That diagram sure throws a kick into the situation? My interment cluster is turning on and I have no security light so not sure if that could interfere. Also what is the C210? The in dash route has me stumped.

Re: Lt1 no fire Not opti spark?

C210 is a connector. Shoebox has the pinouts for all the connectors:

http://shbox.com/1/harness_connector_faces.htm

There are tabs at the bottom of the page for each connector. At the top of the page, it shows the pin numbers, and the location of the connector.

Then why in the h*ll is he posting pictures from a 95 manual to confuse things! I already had posted the correct info in post #21.

OP, if you can just logically follow a wiring diagram, you should have this licked.

Re: Lt1 no fire Not opti spark?

Probably because I told him that 94 and 95 are similar, same pinouts, same wire colors, except for the #4 fuse on the 94.

Re: Lt1 no fire Not opti spark?

Wow i finally got it. A lot of confusion on my part. The original problem with my car was the switch i originally posted. i unplugged some fuses like the courtesy, radio fuse due to the short. Well i have a 95 parts car and i switched the dash fuse panel not looking to see if the diagram was the same. So when i took the (4)radio fuse out i basically killed all power to my pcm. Then i started chasing my tail in circles..lol A lot of times i tend to over think things when its really something so simple. Anyways not a total waist of time ive learned a lot between the wiring of the 94/95. Thank you all for your help.
