well im looking into going carbed with my lt1,(sick of only being able to turn 7200rpm and optis) right now the car sits with le2 heads intake,bre custom cam, my main ? is who makes a carbed singal plane intake that will bolt up to the lt1 heads?

I believe Edelbrock makes an intake that bolts up to the LT heads. They have what they call a victor jr. that bolts up to LS heads so they should make one for LT's.

That is Correct that is what I had on my 86 IROC with LT1 heads. Worked like a charm. Other than the Remote Thermostat housing is a pain, but a WTF at car shows.

GMPP is the only one I know of. You can use a std. SBC intake manifold, but you have to convert the bolt pattern to match the LT1 heads. If you want you can cut out the thermostat neck as well since the LTx is a dry manifold.

I have the GMPP one.Nice piece. The real question is? How much will I have to massage the firewall with a BFH to fit in a traditional HEI ditributor as well.

I have seen it done with an MSD distributor but not an HEI. I don't know about the firewall clearance for an HEI but the vertical clearance for a tradtional distributor in a 4th generation F-body needs some consideration. The distributor needs to be in the motor when it goes into the car and there won't be much of a chance for pulling it back out once the motor is settled into place.

My replacement LT1, just happened to come with the intake, & a new MSD street fire distributor. As well as some brand new motor mounts for the the 350 I'm putting into my 67 C20. I'm just going to hold onto the intake & dist. for another project. I'll be swapping my LT1 intake & opti, once I get it out.

I have a carbureted LT1 in my Camaro. I'm using the GMPP carburetor manifold with a 750 Holley 4150 HP carburetor. For a distributor, I would advise using Mallory's Max-Fire electronic distributor with the large style cap (shorter but wider than the smaller one). You can fully tune it with a laptop computer (good luck fiddling with weights and springs as you can barely remove the distributor cap). I can tell you EVERYTHING you'll have to do if you want. You can view my F-quick link in my sig for reference and further mods. Also, you will need to cut part of the cowl to fit the carburetor. I can post pictures of the engine in the car and how I cut my cowl and any measurements you may need. I cut it with the engine in place; so it fits like a glove. A cowl induction hood may be in order: as your air filter selection will be limited. Any further questions please PM me.
