Re: LT1 bogs under acceleration

I think someone mentioned about checking the opti wiring. Have you checked it to see if there's any damage, corrosion? I’d take a look at the other connectors too; maybe one of them isn't making a full connection. My opti harness was missing the clip to secure it and would work its way out.

its a new unit MY1994Z28 and it came with a new wiring harness. I have been told a bad ignition module or coil could possible make the car read 36 as if it is the distributer. no saying it cant be distributer but i dont want to waste anymore time or money

Not saying ur wrong. Like i said, it was my teacher, and i guess he just got lucky, or knew what it was right away.

But your coil could definatly cause that problem. Im not 100% sure on the code 36 for it but a coil will cause a car to run fine for a minute then start backfiring and misfiring.

Appears you have the All Ignition Products (AIP) Opti. Wouldn't be unusual for it to be bad right out of the box, or to fail after a short period of time.

It's my understanding that DTC 36 is set when the PCM counts less than 60 (OBD-I) or 80 (OBD-II) high res pulses between each low resolution pulse, and the condition persists over several continuous periods.

Re: LT1 bogs under acceleration

yeah injuneer im thinking it is bad they are willing to replace it ... which still is annoying i just want my money back really and just wait another 6 months and just drop the 500 cash on a ac delco and be done with it, but i think im going to give it one more chance since they charge a stock fee or something to give me my money back.
