Looking to replace coil & icm

Looking to replace coil & icm
For a little while I've been having an issue starting the car in wet/damp weather and from the searches here it looks like a combination of the two is to blame.
The car has 147,000 miles on it and has the original coil & icm.
Is there any specific recommendations on which coil & icm to get or for the most part are they all the same for my 'lightly' modded car?
Thanks.

Re: Looking to replace coil & icm
GM ICM is the best. Coil does not matter so much. an Oreilly's re-man worked for me just recently, and it has a lifetime guarantee.
What symptoms other than hard to start?
How long since you changed your plugs?

Plugs --- not too long ago ... maybe 1,000 miles at most.
Car runs GREAT when the weather is fine. If it rained during the day I can't start it ... It cranks and cranks and goes putt-putt with a quick stall out. I also notice the RPM during crank registers quite low. From doing the search around here it seems a few others have encountered the same issue and have resolved it this way.
Where do you get the ICM from? Dealership only?

Re: Looking to replace coil & icm
The ICM can be tested at any good auto store. You need to take it off for the test. The coil cannot be tested.
I think you will find GM wants over 200 dollars for an ICM. I agree that the GM is the way to go. But coils, ...they are cheap. Plug wires are a good investment too.
