Looking for cam suggestions...
I'm looking to replace the stock cam. Was gonna go with the LT4 hotcam, but willing to look at other options as well, especially anything from CompCams line-up. I wanna gain power of course and that nice lopey sound wouldn't hurt either Suggestions folks???

What kind of power do you want to make? Are you going to port your heads? By changing the cam you know you will need to at least do a valve spring swap. i would suggest a cc305 or a 306 depending on the work you will be doing in the process and the power you wana output. The other option is to call comp cams and talk to a cam tech the can custom grind one for your car so you dont over cam it. Its also a good idea to replace the lifters and the timing chain while doing a cam swap, and depending on your power output a new set of injectors will be needed to feed your beast. Post some numbers and some more info and maybe i can help you out more.

Re: Looking for cam suggestions...
I was looking at the hotcam as well and then changed my mind...
I spoke with Thunder and like everyone here suggests, they seem to like the cc305 of what I'm considering. I also heard the extreme 224/230 is a very good cam. Decisions is beating my head like indian drums. I'm wondering what the 305 can put out with stock heads on an A4? hmmm. I havent searched and found that yet. I would love to see 320-330 at the wheels but I'm still searching these threads.

Re: Looking for cam suggestions...
I was running the cc305 on a 112lsa and the car sounded pretty dayum nice! I had mine dynoed with 124,000 miles on it and alot of things wrong with the car and it put down 292hp and 293 rwtq through an A4. I have now stepped up with a 227/233 on a 114lsa cam and a real low mile lt4 shortblock. I must say the car pulls hella hard with this cam. Soon as I get my TPS set right and hopefully the tranny will shift when told, I should be in the high 12's. No dyno numbers yet though but it wont be long before I do get some. Will post when I do. good luck with ur choice
