Are the TFS heads "out of the box", or ported by someone like AI? 55cc version?
Is there a reason you are buying new heads rather than having the stockers ported? Would seem to be less expensive.

well ive been doin a lot of research and decided to get the LE1 set up. LE1 heads, custom cam that he offers, 3600 stall, 1.6 rockers, i got headers, exhaust and cai right now. it seems well worth it and a lot to gain for the amount compared to buying the trick flows and the cc503 set up. and ill probly get a mail order tune to get it running right then find a place that can dyno it. what i really want to know is what are some good stalls to look into? i know yank is good i was just wondering if there are any other good ones out there that are cheaper?

Why would you say that? If he knows what he wants dont discourage him. Besides the LE1 setup is a good starting point.
OP, there are a few company's out there that make a quality stall. Yank being one of the best (i think many would agree with me on this), along with vigilante and edge products being good.

First he was looking at an as cast aftermarket head which would have been a waste of money, they are a quality head but running an as cast aftermarket head will get you beat by someone who made different choices. Then those heads come with 7degree hardware and 3/8 studs, the studs in particular are a poor choice.
On the LE1s I don't understand using up a set of cores on halfway work, if you are going to commit to using a pair of heads spend the money to do them very well ONCE.
If he was considering as cast Trickflows and can't find the name of a good converter shop beyond Yank he is NOWHERE near ready to begin modding the car this substantially and encouraging him to dive further in without a lot more understanding is encouraging him to fail. If you check his profile and read some of the OP's other 2 dozen posts and that last week it was an STS and 503 setup he wanted you will see he is NOT ready to be buying parts yet.

After that being said i agree he needs to do more reading. But I disagree on the heads i mean do we know what the car is going to be used for? I mean if its gonna just be a street car and he doesnt want to break any records the LE1's would be great for him and they would be a little cheaper then the LE2's or AI setups. There isnt anything wrong with LE1's imo

Re: trickflow heads cc503 power gains?
my goals right now is to get in the low 12s or high 11s would be nice, and still be able to drive on the street incase i pull up next to a new 5.0 or new camaro i can out run them and i believe the le1 set up and a go rear can get me there plus hes not very far away form me. and the sts i was lookin at was because it would seem really easy to get power since it just bolts on but i can get the same kind of power if i just built up my engine so i threw that idea away. id rather be natural anyways.
