Fuel Line re-connect issue

I used to tool to disconnec the feed/return from the intake, no problems there. Now when I try to reconnect them, the feed goes right in a made a click noise and is secured. The return line, I can keep pushing and pushing and it never clicks, if I pull back on the line it will give a little resistance then pop free.

Would bending the clips outward on the line help this? I dont understand how it happened....

BTW: none of the clips are borken I looked inside it and it looks perfectly fine...

We did hid the fuel lines in 69gto96z 's TA and we had little of trouble with that. The inner clips are very delicate. They have to be perfect to hold pressure and not leak. It took him a little tweaking to get it right. The disconnect tool bent them a little bit and we stretched them a little. It held and doesn't leak anymore.

I changed out my fuel rail in my Z28 and i bent the clips with the disconnect tool too. We did the same thing. Everything works perfect.

I think its the cheap disconnect tool that does it that.

Ya I played w/ the clips a little and now it seems to have locked itself in, but no click/pop when it did it. Now I think about it this one was a little wierd to take off in the first place the previous owner must have ****ed with it. It doesn't pull out now so I guess its good...we'll see if my car start on fire. It's just a return so I dont think there is too much pressure in that line.

Just make sure you double check it after it's running and under pressure (doesn't need to run to do that either) to see that is is not leaking. I was tweaking with my FP guage mounted on the schrader one day and didn't realize I cracked the base of the schrader valve weld. Drove for 10-15 miles and kept smelling gas and then when I parked it found a puddle of gas under the car. It's a miracle I didn't set it on fire, but replaced the fuel rail and all is good now. Good luck!!!

It's good to lube those tubes before you insert them also - theres o-rings in there and everything needs to slip together.

Ran it today, it holds up. And btw you can't buy the replacment fitting for this line...you have to buy a whole need line. This is at the intake not by the filter.
