Update: finally got back to track, with new duct work for ram air, full synthetic oil, and a manual fan switch I got a little closer to the 11 sec. goal. Still on the mail order tune but I did install an AFR controller and recorded data so I can tune for next time. Was running real rich up high. Video is of 12.09 run because the 12.08 video quality was too shaky to see.

Prayer, patience, and perseverance paid off. Finally I made my goal. With another AFR adjustment and bumping up the timing 1* I ran an 11.98. Murphy's Law though no one was there to record the run. Here's the results:

1.652 60
4.880 330
7.621 660
89.45 MPH1
9.992 1000
11.986 1320
113.29 MPH2

I again want to thank everyone for their help and advice.

Nice! It's always good to have it on video.
Also, you might hit 10.99 with a 175 shot. Just saying...

Bottle warmer and dragbar are installed, hopefully next time it'll happen.
As long as the rest of the car stays together.

Re: How to reach the 11's

Thanks for the advice but I'm not familar with sus? I think at this point the 3000 converter is hurting me a bit. When I had Edge build it I was not doing any racing so I had him build it for more street use.

yeah for sure. I had a 3800 edge conv. and paired with 3:73 gears, it was a VERY drivable car still. and got me 1.5x sixties, for a while. thats the problem though. dont expect the car to launch you into the sub 1.6 60' and last forever still.

unless you can do the rear end work yourself, it doesnt make sense until you can afford a 9", then go 3:90's.

oh, and by "sus" he means suspension.

Re: How to reach the 11's

Thought I'd update this thread one last time. Opening day today @ the track today and with new mods consisting of some more head porting, 2.0 and 1.55 valves, upped the converter to 3600, got me an 11.63 @ 116. With a little tuning 11.5 is no problem and that's the limit for a roll bar so I guess I've just about takin' this car as far as I can go. Still on the stock 80K short block.

Re: How to reach the 11's

That's great to hear. I've been following this thread since you made it. My car had similar problems that yours did and this thread helped me out a lot too. Any more plans for it?
