How MPG does your 383 stroker get?

A good tune has good drivabilty. It doesn't mater if it was done on a dyno, on the street, or someone got lucky thru the mail. There is a deference between wide open dyno and track tunes and all around drivabilty with many datalogs to get it right. I had a healthy cam with 3600 stall and 4.10's and could avarage 16-18. A manual tranny and 3.5-3.73 gear would have helped.

I averaged 15.3 on a 90 mile round trip the other night to a cruise in, went over on the interstate, came back through town...so it was a good mix of driving.
Gotta remember six speed cars will ALWAYS get better mileage than an auto car. They have 2 overdrives.
Pretty good for my setup I think, especially with a 4.11 gear and a 4L60E.

Complete Truth be told, I averaged about 6 MPG on the road race course in Memphis: About four gallons per fifteen minute lapping session. It was either all brake, all turn, or all wide-open throttle. On the drag strip I use about 1/3 of a gallon for each quarter-mile pass. That's about 0.75 MPG. Around-town gas mileage is about 14 - 16.

I think having a stroker and an automatic transmission equates to poor gas mileage. Mine runs great, recent dyno tune and tune-up, and I still only average 12 mpg. If you decided to go with a bigger motor, fuel efficiency probably wasn't your foremost concern. Just enjoy the ride
