How hot does your LT1 run ?

On the temp gauge, how high up is your LT1 usually at? I think mine stays as cool as it does since I have the oil cooler out in front of the AC condenser and everything ...

Under normal conditions im USUALLY at or below a 1/4 of the way up. If its sitting idling in traffic, it CREEPS a hair over the 1/2 way mark. Same with if im pounding on it.

Re: How hot does your LT1 run ?

I think the cooler is why I have such good oil pressure too. At a hot idle, I still am at like 25LBs ... Which apparently is higher then average for an LT1, and from what ive heard, the car runs cooler then most LT1's too ...

I wanna run Water Wetter in it too though, my latest obsession is getting it to run as cool as possible in the cheapest way.

Mine never goes above 190 as read on my Scanmaster. I have a big transcooler (28,000GWT) in front of my AC radiator then the normal radiator.
You would think that having two radiators in front restricting the engine's radiator would increase its operating temperature, not reduce it.

Mine says a little over 160 on the gauge but on the scanmaster it says about 180. This is with a 160 thermostat. On really hot days like 100+ it will run 210+.

My dash guage goes to 0 once in a while and is about 20 degrees or more off at times. According to my scanner fully warmed up my car runs 210-230 with one fan going on and off keeping it at those temps. This is why I am getting an SLP fan switch to lower those temps and keep my engine happy.

you could just wire up your own switch for like $10
