Hot weather issue

Re: Hot weather issue
Doubt it. If you want to play parts roulette (lol...I love that but can't claim it as mine....got it from Fred), you might replace the coil. Also check the spark plug wire between the coil and opti.

Re: Hot weather issue
The heat soak problem affects the optical cam position sensor. That is located in the body (back 1/2) of the Opti. Replacing the cap/rotor will not replace the sensor. When the sensor fails, it may set DTC 16, and that does not turn on the SES light (assuming "nk" should have been "no").

I was going to tell him to scan again (which could reveal DTC 16), but at this point it feels like beating a dead horse. How many times can you give advice to have it ignored over and over before you give up.

Wasn't ignoring your advice I stated I'm waiting until payday to purchase my aldl cable. Figured I could replace parts in warranty in the meanwhile and chance fixing the problem , now I do have a SES light now so I'm thinking its the optical sensor that is bad but I won't know for sure until I'm able to run a scan .
