Re: hose size please
Do you mean the oil cooler bypass hose, #16 in Shoebox's diagram:
http://shbox.com/1/93-94_hoses.jpg
It has the part # shown.... see if GM still makes it, or if there is an aftermarket replacement.
Did the "mechanic" save the old hose, or can he retrieve it from the trash barrel?

Re: hose size please
thank you TJ,hose is DC gonna head to wreck yard in morning and see what i can find lol
kinda complicated Fred but i got that oil cooler bypass hose from a guy selling parts, im gonna have to take a pic and show you what my mechanic did, he mickey moused it but not very well, hose that inserts into the WP side running to the oil cooler the metal part is cut off and two clamps, but the hose doesn't even fit tight and coolant is leaking and seeping through after i shut the car off

Re: hose size please
Measure the ID of the hose he used and get the next smaller size. Or measure the OD of the connection on the water pump.
Do you have the cooler or do you have the bypass (without oil cooler)?

Re: hose size please
hey Fred i just got back from pic a part now, i grabbed two hoses and i have the cooler, but on the 94 can they get bypassed,id rather do that and not have to worry about the aluminum/metal line getting crack or leaking in the future

Re: hose size please
GM decided these cars didn't need the cooler after 1995 so you can be confident that he oil will cool adequately under normal driving conditions without one. That said, mine has one and it has worked just fine for 21 years and if it failed tomorrow I'd repair it. I just like keeping everything it came with functioning properly...

Hey Fred i decided to clean the throttle body now, i took off the IAC sensor to look at it, i noticed the pintle/spring is coming out far,i have a new one in the box still in my tool box, and the spring/pintle is all the way in. In another thread i asked you i have idling problems when i first start it up,that the idling is low like 600 to 700 then will climb up to the normal idle 900. Is the IAC sensor supposed to look like that when the engine is cold?

Re: hose size please
First... IAC is not a "sensor", it's an "actuator". Minor point, but worth clarifying. It doesn't tell the PCM anything, it just moves in response to PCM command.
The IAC motor will "park" on shutdown, and logically it would go to the "learned" position. On cold start, it will open up to raise the idle speed to the elevated RPM based on coolant temp. It sounds like yours is normal.
Don't try to move the pintle on the old unit, that can damage it. To install the new unit, you have to move the pintle to match the old unit. That's OK to do. See Shoebox's guide:
