High 11's to mid 12's w/ Midlength headers?
My question is would I be able to run mid 12's consistently and maybe an occasional high 11 if I had Midlength headers? I'm not saying can I run those times with just headers, I know I need alot of other stuff, but would mid headers restrict me in the long run from running those times?

go to www.advancedinduction.com and phil has two heads and cam LT1 cars with midlength headers with over 400rwhp.

Midlength headers are not going to hold you back from Mid 12's-11's.
Like Z95m6 said, if you compare identical heads/cam setups with mids vs LT's you'll see that the mids do just as well as the LT's. www.advancedinduction.com is a perfect example.
12SCNDZ has 12.05 @ 112.35 MPH 1.67 60 ft. with MAC mids with a "mild" cam and light headwork. 11's are no problem for mids.

i wouldn't say that. my SLP mid lengths seem to get the job done decently. see sig.

Like they said, its very doable. I run mid 12's all day with MAC's and with the cooler weather coming, Im hoping for some low 12's. Im running stock heads and and gears with a ex 227/233 cam so there is plenty more there.
What is making you zero-in on the mid length headers? Lt's can be a pain as for a clearance goes but its no secret that they make more power.

I have recently been looking into Pacesetter LT's and it looks like the plug and wire access is great and the price cant really be beat. Something you might want to look into although they dont satify all of your needs that you listed. The bottom line is, you can get as much if not more with the mid length headers. Good luck with your modding journey.

with a 1 and 3/4' primary my boy you can run ever quicker than that. Longtubes are not the king of all.......someone will yell at me for saying that but, they just make a bit more TQ down low.

Talk to Injuneer, he got the ASM headers from another faster guy, who only switched to LT's when the ASM's started to becoming a choking point at about 800+ HP. Personally, I believe that ASM's are better than Long tubes because you're still afforded emissions compliance and ground clearance, not to mention top notch craftsmanship.
