Unhappy Heater core bypass

I blew the heater core on my 1995 Z28. I need to replace it but today is Sunday and raining no garage to work in. What could I do easily to bypass the core. I have to be at work Monday morning. What's parts will I need.

Playing in the rain today

Patrick

P S. I'd rather watch football and have a few beers

Re: Heater core bypass

If you can manage to get the hoses off the heater core nipples at the firewall, connect the hoses together with a hose barb. Don't know the size, but someone here might.

Re: Heater core bypass

Well I'm in it to win it now. I caught a lull in the rain got the core out. The biggest PITA were the hoses and little screw that clamps down the lines thru the fire wall. Now I have to figure out how to get the new core back in, as soon as the rain lets up again. I searched last night and got some great info on this site.

Is like to add remove a few plugs that hold the weatherstrip on the fire wall. They will tear up your forearms.

Half way. Wish me luck

Re: Heater core bypass

Well I got lucky a caught a break in the weather. Core replaced. It would have been more trouble to bypass than replace. Part was $60 plus tax. Off to work
