headlight motors

ok guys , my headlight motor( this particular one works when it wants to, goes up and down sometimes when i push the switch, but will go down if i flip the switch enough times. Well, as of late, now it'll close, but it'll keep on going, and wont stop until i grab ahold of the manual flipper, or i unblock the wiring to it.

why does it do this, and do i need a new one

my car is a 95 with 66k on it.

Re: headlight motors

ok that sounds confusing, what i mean to say is, the motor jsut keeps running, even after the headlight has gone down all the way. that particular headlight/motor have given me problems before.

Re: headlight motors

It's your gear inside the motor. You can buy a plastic gear on E-bay for $15.00 or so or you can buy a metal one (which I highly recommend) for about $35.00. It is by far cheaper to replace the gear and not the whole motor.
