Good thing I was bored....

I decided to look for play in my steering shaft. I jacked up the car, and my father turned the wheel. We heard a clunk coming from the shaft every time it moved. I looked under there, and the bolt was missing from the bottom of the steering shaft (yes, the one that HOLDS IT IN!)

That could have led to big trouble in the future...I'm glad I found it.

Is 26030302 the correct part number for the bolt?

Call a GM dealer and have them look it up. If nothing else you can just use a bolt and nut from the hardware store.

If you use a bolt from a hardware store be sure that it is 10.9 class. If you want the gm part number doa search for a camaro parts cd. There is a pdf available free for download that has a breakdown of all the parts on 4th gen F-bodies.
