I had a brand new one from GM break on me..torque is I believe 6ft lbs..I had barely 4 and it cracked.

Stock torque on the oil pump hold-down bolt is actually 13#.

Is your torque wench actually accurate down really low?
Especially if using a higher range wrench at low setting the can click so soft you miss it.
