Re: exhaust

I always thought hooker sounded great and flowed well from what I hear and the price is not bad either.

Re: exhaust

I've had the loud mouth and liked it until the drone started to get to me, I now have Hooker and love it. Only $270 shipped brand new from jegs.

Re: exhaust

Flowmasters sound the best IMO. They are supposedly really restrictive, but not the 40 series. Maybe a difference of 1-2hp. Someone on here pointed out that mufflers arent our power adders like civics. It's really just whichever was the best sound. I think that Flowmasters with LT's and true duals sound the best.

I have a flowmaster as well and yes it does rust. I completely missed the part about him not wanting it to rust. I ended up cutting my muffler off and now i just have the single 3" pipe back there. I think that the GMMG is one of the nicest sounding exhausts but personally i am going to go with pacesetter LT's into 3" magnaflow cats, into a 3" X pipe, and straight back with the bare 3" pipe exiting on the tire. If you look under the car you can see right where you could run pipes on the side. I might add bullet mufflers and 3" slash cut tips, but the tips aren't really going to be seen.

Re: exhaust

I have a sound clip of my Flowmaster exhaust before i removed the muffler and through stock manifolds.

If you want a sound clip without the muffler i could get that too.

Re: exhaust

The only low cost system out there that is stainless (and thereby won't rust) is Magnaflow. Using the search feature will get you more information on this system. (I have one and love it).

Also... Although you have an LT1, you can still get a slight idea of the vast majority of exhaust setups and their sounds here;

I agree, but not all like the sound of the Magnaflow.

Hooker is not stainless, but I love the sound of mine.

Another option that is stainless, is the SLP TOTL. Many LOVE the sound, but you might not like the single dual tip exhaust.

Re: exhaust

Sound clip of Hooker Catback. By the way I love mine and have gotten numerous compliments on it. I also switched from a Flowmaster 80 series, which I hated.
