engine problems!!!

I have a 95 Z with 50,000 miles just replaces opti about 500 miles ago and today I got in the car and the car wont start the battery is charged, the lights work and so does the radio but when I turn the key the car cranks but wont turn over. It is like the engine isn't getting fuel I think that it may be the fuel pump b/c the car will crank a day but won't turn over. What do you guys think, Thanks for the help!

Re: engine problems!!!

Good place to start is pull the coil wire and check for spark. If it's there check a plug or 2. Then see if you have fuel pressure.

Re: engine problems!!!

sounds like a fuel pump issue. yeah, test the spark first. have your best friend hold the spark plug wire while u crank over the engine. if his hair looks like don king, then you have spark!!! lol but seriously, check for spark. if there is spark, then go fuel pump. best way to check the fuel pump is to check the fuel pressure, and if there is no pressure, spray some gas in cyl. 1 and see if it even tries to start. if it acts like it wants to start, then its definately the fuel pump. happened to my 96 chevy truck 2 times
