I just looked at the McCord one and it says up to 4 seconds...most stereo/alarm shops have timers that will activate an accessory for a specific time you set. Just get a mechanical or electronic TPS switch and a timer. If I end up doing a cutout, I'll most likely do this.

A 555 will do it easily as well...

as to the question about my C/R its 8.3:1
And Using the information about 555 timers found here:
http://home.cogeco.ca/~rpaisley4/LM555.html

Just as an example, you could use a 400 Ohm resistor, and a 5Kmicrofarad capasitor, and with that setup, get a delay time of 2.2 seconds.
I believe the correct setup is a little past 3/4 the way down:
Various LM555 Time Delay Circuits
Timer Recovery Delay Circuits
http://home.cogeco.ca/~rpaisley4/LM555Delays1.GIF

One of those **should** do it. I could definatly be wrong as it has been a while since working with IC's.

But that in use with a WOT switch, I guess I would have to buy one for nitrous use, should do it

K how about this: Adjustable spring loaded cutouts which open at a desired pressure, maintaining a XXX backpressure and discarding of anything beyond that by opening up (kinda like a our 18PSI rad caps). Any way to add a pressure sensor that just activates a switch when X change in PSI occurs over X time? that would also have a similar effect i guess... I like my springs idea

Some of the biggest waste gates are only 55mm, and these are VERY expensive because they can withstand extreme heat. Even ignoring the price issue, its still only 55mm(2.2"), while a 3" cutout is much larger, so why do that?
11$ in jegs for the WOT sensor(nitrous use)
150$ for an E-Cutout
then some pocketchange for the 555 timer setup( if thats the right setup, no one got back to me on that yet)
and you have a cutout that opens under WOT....

Car pulls up to your stock sounding car with a single chrome tip.... he revs his engine, you rev yours, you flip the switch, put it in gear, drop the clutch and by time your tires grip the cutout opens, you blow him away, and scare the **** outa him in the process....

Call it what you will... But the point being is that it expells air when it gets to a certain pressure. That was my point. Some are spring loaded and some use a diaphram. Obviously I'm limited on the knowledge, but the basics are there

I wouldn't make it too complicated. I may try this myself b/c I like the idea of a quiet exhaust and a cutout. I would use a WOT N2o switch and make it make contact with the throttle at about 1/4 throttle then by the time you get going the cutout is wideopen and you are rolling. I would have an on/off switch for the wot setup and also have a seperate switch to just open or close the cutout for track use. Your car will have more torque with cutout closed (leaving the redlight) then once you leave it will be open and you would have more horsepower up top. Great idea

Yeah, I am definatly going to go with 2 switches, but again with only using nos contact switch it still will start to close as you shift. That is the reason for the 555 timer

After recieving the cutout in the mail today, I realised there is no need for the timer, the wiring of the cutout is not how I first thought it was. All that is needed is a WOT switch, wire that into the "open" side of the switch, and it will open while at WOT. It should take all of 1st to open, and some of 2nd. Is definatly going to be alot easier to do than I origionally planned. Once its done I'll post some feedback
