Edelbrock heads and stock PCM?

Edelbrock heads and stock PCM?
I have a '95 Caprice 9C1 LT1, I am curious if I bought Edelbrock heads would the PCM go on the fritz? I still have stock cam. What kind of driveability issues would I face if any? Thanks

None, bolt em on and go. Just make sure the iron head and the aluminum head have the same combustion chamber size which I think they do.

Re: Edelbrock heads and stock PCM?
On one of the b-body specific boards we just discussed this and one of the big dogs over there admitted trying ported aluminums with a stock cam and actually LOST a couple HP. The stock LT1 heads are very good, the irons even flow more than most of the aluminums granted only by 5% but still it should make my point about your current heads being good. The stock cam is the limiter, if you want to go into the engine to make more power that is THE place to start, I have yet to see a single person happy with aftermarket or ported heads or LT4 whatever and a stock cam. The stock cam is also so small that you can take a big step up without any effect on drivability, stock b-body cam is 191/195 .418/.430, I run a ZZ3 cam 208/221 .474/.510, even gearheads that know I have swapped cams comment on it sounding and acting stock.
There was another guy who put on AFR heads with a stock cam otherwise similar mods to mine, he had pcmforless tuning for 93 octane I had pcmforless tuning for 87 octane, my car put down 10hp more. If you want to do the heads now fine but do the cam at the same time because the stock cam is not enough to make bigger heads work right, and get the thing programmed, you are looking at under $100 for that, why spend a couple grand modding the engine and then skimp on $50-100 in tuning to make it actually work right?
