Differential gears

I started having an oil leak on the rear differential where the driveshaft connects. I've replaced the seal twice already in six months. And I'm still having a leak. I was told to change my diff bearings ...

Since I'm doing that, I thought of upgrading my gears... I'm thinking motive 4.10 gears with the motive master bearing kit...

Any thoughts on the gear choice
And the bearing choice...??

I thought my signature would automatically generate, but I guess I wasn't logged on...

So I'm thinking about upgrading to 4.10 gears and new bearings to ...

Re: Differential gears

4.10's are good with the 94 and up T56, with the steep O/D 5th and 6th gears.

When the gears are installed, you need an install kit, and a complete kit will include new side bearings and pinion bearings.

Has the housing pinion seal bearing area been inspected for damage? Should not get leaks with a newly installed seal.

Re: Differential gears

I have a 94 with 4.10 gears and like it a lot, feels good on the freeway (not too much rpm) and at the track it is in a good rom crossing the line with 26" tires. 28" if running on the bottle works good too.

I have the 4.10s and I think it was a aburn posi built by hoopers rear end here in ca.
I'm building a ford 8.8 for my car now. I just need the axle tubes and brackets from this rear end. If you are interested in the gear set. Then would just need a instal kit, shims etc.

Re: Differential gears

Another vote for 4.10 with M6. I have 3.73 leftover from when I ran an A4 and 6th is almost unusable unless I'm going 80.
